Brian is a professional researcher who spent many years developing and influencing policies at every level, from the Parish to the European Union.
Brian and his associates are well known for their track record on policy development which meets the needs of rural communities. This includes expertise on ‘rural proofing’ – so that mainstream policies can work effectively in rural places.
Other areas of specialism include community empowerment, service delivery, tackling disadvantage, local governance and managing the impacts of migration. On migration Brian has helped local authorities and partnerships to develop better data, build strategies, adapt services and engage with new communities.
